Cinder Well are purveyors of hauntingly beautiful dark-folk, calling in equal measure on Celtic, English, and Appalachian traditions.  The bedrock of their sound are powerfully sombre vocals that are intimately entwined with mournful guitar and viola.  The overarching atmosphere is one of spine-tingling melancholy, enriched by cathartic raucous fiddle-led eruptions and crescendos of percussion-fuelled aggression.  Those who relish the doom-folk excursions of Dawn Ray’d and Morrow will find much to enjoy.  Originally released in 2018, Contraszt!
